Keyword: Wear-once clothes, Clothes consumption behavior, Social media influential

Question: How does the apparel industry minister people to change their consumption behavior to be wastage by the influence of social media?

Wear-once clothings has been ever more common and rampant in a social-media charged environment. According to research by environmental charity Hubbub, 41% of all 18–25-year-olds feel the pressure to wear a different outfit every time they go out. One in six young people even say that they don’t feel they can wear an outfit again once it’s been seen on social media. (metro.co.uk)

It has become evident that such phenomena have caused much wastage and a toxic habit among the youth today. Many would push the blame to fashion brands of such impulsive behavior. Are the youth of today aware of such a scenario?

I, as a part of a social media active group, would propose more awareness of timeless outfits to respond to such phenomena. Classic fashion would be a starting point as it remains on-trend always. I also found out there are many charts and diagrams that can suggest ways to maximize clothings and stretch its usage.I am amazed that why are not promoted among the trend setters. so… I decided to create a template of a Personal clothes planner for everyone. It’s a similar idea of a year planner that we use to plan the whole year but this one is to help plan about clothes that you will buy and about the perfect outfit for each person.

This planner can help maximise clothing in your wardrobe to be very suit and worth. Also help make decisions on shopping.

Having more conscious consuming habits it’s not only good for the planet’s resources and people behind our clothes but also makes your life easy and enriches your style.

In order to attract attention and also shout out my thoughts.

1.I start by asking for wear once clothes from some selected group then deconstruct step by step to see and experience it by my own hands

2. use sewing technique to create a centerpiece from wear-once break down pieces to show how non-timeless clothes run. resembles a colour chart of people seasonal that determines which colours flatter the most relate to skin tone

3. add in the QR code?

4. scanned to access Clothes planer and other resources.

eg. donate to a group that will give a second chance to the clothings. or turn them to something more if the fabrics are too uncomfortable to be worn.

For the next step i will continue making a centerpiece and also continue develop clothes planner
